Narrative:
New first officer had considerable difficulty overctling -- behind aircraft and had never flown commercially before. I was training him. Approach cleared us and switched us to tower. I became engrossed in instructing new pilot. I didn't switch to tower and landed without clearance. After calling on ground I was assured 'no problem' but wanted to add incident to your files. Instructor error.

Narrative: NEW FO HAD CONSIDERABLE DIFFICULTY OVERCTLING -- BEHIND ACFT AND HAD NEVER FLOWN COMMERCIALLY BEFORE. I WAS TRAINING HIM. APCH CLRED US AND SWITCHED US TO TWR. I BECAME ENGROSSED IN INSTRUCTING NEW PLT. I DIDN'T SWITCH TO TWR AND LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC. AFTER CALLING ON GND I WAS ASSURED 'NO PROBLEM' BUT WANTED TO ADD INCIDENT TO YOUR FILES. INSTRUCTOR ERROR.
