Narrative:

Aircraft arrived in ewr with a throttle split discrepancy. At takeoff, climb out, and cruise power settings, #2 engine indicated higher EPR than #1 engine. Both right hand engine cowls were opened to check throttle rig. #2 engine throttle linkage from engine xshaft to FCU was found to have a worn bearing and bolt at xshaft attach point. Bearing P/north 07-7203-3-0007 and bolt P/north 99-7206-3-0008 were removed and replaced, correct thrust rod length was achieved by installing rig pins at right thrust crank and FCU. #1 engine thrust rod was checked for axial play, none was found. Both engine right hand cowls were closed and both engines were run, all engine parameters matched at idle, part power, and takeoff power settings. Aircraft was returned to service. Later same day, #2 engine was shutdown in-flight in elp for loss of throttle control. On left side of engine xshaft -- nut, bolt, cotter key were missing. At no time in ewr was the throttle linkage disconnected on the left side of #2 engine xshaft. In fact, neither engine left hand cowl was opened.

Title: MECH RPTS WORK DONE ON R HAND SIDE OF #2 ENG REF THROTTLE SPLIT DISCREPANCY. NEXT FLT ENG SHUTDOWN DUE LOSS OF THROTTLE CTL. L SIDE OF ENG MISSING NUT, BOLT AND COTTER KEY.

Narrative: ACFT ARRIVED IN EWR WITH A THROTTLE SPLIT DISCREPANCY. AT TKOF, CLBOUT, AND CRUISE PWR SETTINGS, #2 ENG INDICATED HIGHER EPR THAN #1 ENG. BOTH R HAND ENG COWLS WERE OPENED TO CHK THROTTLE RIG. #2 ENG THROTTLE LINKAGE FROM ENG XSHAFT TO FCU WAS FOUND TO HAVE A WORN BEARING AND BOLT AT XSHAFT ATTACH POINT. BEARING P/N 07-7203-3-0007 AND BOLT P/N 99-7206-3-0008 WERE REMOVED AND REPLACED, CORRECT THRUST ROD LENGTH WAS ACHIEVED BY INSTALLING RIG PINS AT R THRUST CRANK AND FCU. #1 ENG THRUST ROD WAS CHKED FOR AXIAL PLAY, NONE WAS FOUND. BOTH ENG R HAND COWLS WERE CLOSED AND BOTH ENGS WERE RUN, ALL ENG PARAMETERS MATCHED AT IDLE, PART PWR, AND TKOF PWR SETTINGS. ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SVC. LATER SAME DAY, #2 ENG WAS SHUTDOWN INFLT IN ELP FOR LOSS OF THROTTLE CTL. ON L SIDE OF ENG XSHAFT -- NUT, BOLT, COTTER KEY WERE MISSING. AT NO TIME IN EWR WAS THE THROTTLE LINKAGE DISCONNECTED ON THE L SIDE OF #2 ENG XSHAFT. IN FACT, NEITHER ENG L HAND COWL WAS OPENED.
