Narrative:
Taxi instructions were received and acknowledged to, 'taxi to runway 2R via lima.' we were at tango 6. Upon passing lima 6 we continued straight on lima to runway 31 instead of bearing left also on lima to hotel. Thence to runway 2R. Lack of adequate airport marking makes this intersection unsafe without total familiarity of airport. We were given the same taxi clearance the following day on another through flight. Careful examination of the taxiway markings reflect a need for additional runway signs also as none exist in the area. This problem would be much more severe in darkness or reduced visibility. Supplemental information from acn 220389. I acknowledged instructions to taxi to runway 2R via T6 to lima. We had planned for 20R and as we taxied, I was reprogramming the FMS for 02R. The signs to continue with lima to 20L/2R were not obvious at and prior to this intersection. Factors: poor runway/taxi signs and their location on taxiway. Cockpit landing. Unfamiliarity with airport.

Title: AN MLG CREW AT BNA TAXIED TO THE WRONG RWY BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT PROPER MARKINGS AT THE INTXN OF 'L' AND 'L6.'
Narrative: TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WERE RECEIVED AND ACKNOWLEDGED TO, 'TAXI TO RWY 2R VIA LIMA.' WE WERE AT TANGO 6. UPON PASSING LIMA 6 WE CONTINUED STRAIGHT ON LIMA TO RWY 31 INSTEAD OF BEARING L ALSO ON LIMA TO HOTEL. THENCE TO RWY 2R. LACK OF ADEQUATE ARPT MARKING MAKES THIS INTXN UNSAFE WITHOUT TOTAL FAMILIARITY OF ARPT. WE WERE GIVEN THE SAME TAXI CLRNC THE FOLLOWING DAY ON ANOTHER THROUGH FLT. CAREFUL EXAMINATION OF THE TAXIWAY MARKINGS REFLECT A NEED FOR ADDITIONAL RWY SIGNS ALSO AS NONE EXIST IN THE AREA. THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE MUCH MORE SEVERE IN DARKNESS OR REDUCED VISIBILITY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 220389. I ACKNOWLEDGED INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI TO RWY 2R VIA T6 TO LIMA. WE HAD PLANNED FOR 20R AND AS WE TAXIED, I WAS REPROGRAMMING THE FMS FOR 02R. THE SIGNS TO CONTINUE WITH LIMA TO 20L/2R WERE NOT OBVIOUS AT AND PRIOR TO THIS INTXN. FACTORS: POOR RWY/TAXI SIGNS AND THEIR LOCATION ON TAXIWAY. COCKPIT LNDG. UNFAMILIARITY WITH ARPT.
