Narrative:
Climbing to 10000 given a vector to avoid traffic (3 helicopters). We asked location of traffic. At about 4000 ft traffic appeared on TCASII at 1500 above. Inside 2 1/2 mi TCASII called traffic, made visual contact. Collision course. Leveled off. 800 ft separation as helicopters (3) passed directly overhead. We leveled at approximately 4700 ft.
