Narrative:
Location: glasgow international, scotland, link 7 pad. Air carrier widebody transport aircraft. Condition: marginal VFR. Wind 270/18. Light rain. On landing rollout, tower directed flight to 'exit left.' due to wet runway and residual rollout speed, we announced we would roll to the end, and exit the runway on link 7. Tower announced that the parallel taxiway north of link 7 was closed for construction, and in order to taxi to our gate, we would have to turn around on the link 7 pad and hold short of runway 23 to back taxi on the runway. We acknowledged the instructions and exit on link 7. As we exit we notice men, equipment and barricades working on what is designated as the T-11 portion of the parallel taxiway. With a taxi speed of approximately 5 KTS, captain turns off on link 7 and favors the north portion of L-7, setting up for a right 180 degree turn. Due to strong surface winds (270/18) power was kept at idle, while maintaining approximately 5 KTS GS captain commenced a right 180 with idle power. (Note: the closest our aircraft came to the construction zone was approximately 150 ft.) with about 30 ft of turn to complete the right 180. Captain advanced the left throttle slightly above idle (approximately 1 knob width) to provide sufficient energy to complete the turn. As he straightened out the steering, the right engine was advanced to match the left engine in order to taxi into the wind and hold short of runway 23. At no time during the 180 degree turn, did I ever feel that our maneuver endangered the ground personnel in the construction area. After parking the aircraft and going to our layover hotel, captain was called by our station personnel and informed that a worker in the above-mentioned construction zone was blown off of his equipment by our aircraft, necessitating that he be taken to a local hospital to be treated and released for an injured arm and possible injured ribs.

Title: ACR WDB ACFT JET BLAST INJURED GND CONSTRUCTION WORKER DURING TAXI AFTER LNDG.
Narrative: LOCATION: GLASGOW INTL, SCOTLAND, LINK 7 PAD. ACR WDB ACFT. CONDITION: MARGINAL VFR. WIND 270/18. LIGHT RAIN. ON LNDG ROLLOUT, TWR DIRECTED FLT TO 'EXIT L.' DUE TO WET RWY AND RESIDUAL ROLLOUT SPD, WE ANNOUNCED WE WOULD ROLL TO THE END, AND EXIT THE RWY ON LINK 7. TWR ANNOUNCED THAT THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY N OF LINK 7 WAS CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION, AND IN ORDER TO TAXI TO OUR GATE, WE WOULD HAVE TO TURN AROUND ON THE LINK 7 PAD AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 23 TO BACK TAXI ON THE RWY. WE ACKNOWLEDGED THE INSTRUCTIONS AND EXIT ON LINK 7. AS WE EXIT WE NOTICE MEN, EQUIP AND BARRICADES WORKING ON WHAT IS DESIGNATED AS THE T-11 PORTION OF THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY. WITH A TAXI SPD OF APPROX 5 KTS, CAPT TURNS OFF ON LINK 7 AND FAVORS THE N PORTION OF L-7, SETTING UP FOR A R 180 DEG TURN. DUE TO STRONG SURFACE WINDS (270/18) PWR WAS KEPT AT IDLE, WHILE MAINTAINING APPROX 5 KTS GS CAPT COMMENCED A R 180 WITH IDLE PWR. (NOTE: THE CLOSEST OUR ACFT CAME TO THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE WAS APPROX 150 FT.) WITH ABOUT 30 FT OF TURN TO COMPLETE THE R 180. CAPT ADVANCED THE L THROTTLE SLIGHTLY ABOVE IDLE (APPROX 1 KNOB WIDTH) TO PROVIDE SUFFICIENT ENERGY TO COMPLETE THE TURN. AS HE STRAIGHTENED OUT THE STEERING, THE R ENG WAS ADVANCED TO MATCH THE L ENG IN ORDER TO TAXI INTO THE WIND AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 23. AT NO TIME DURING THE 180 DEG TURN, DID I EVER FEEL THAT OUR MANEUVER ENDANGERED THE GND PERSONNEL IN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA. AFTER PARKING THE ACFT AND GOING TO OUR LAYOVER HOTEL, CAPT WAS CALLED BY OUR STATION PERSONNEL AND INFORMED THAT A WORKER IN THE ABOVE-MENTIONED CONSTRUCTION ZONE WAS BLOWN OFF OF HIS EQUIP BY OUR ACFT, NECESSITATING THAT HE BE TAKEN TO A LCL HOSPITAL TO BE TREATED AND RELEASED FOR AN INJURED ARM AND POSSIBLE INJURED RIBS.
