Narrative:

During climb through about 6000 ft, aircraft began to yaw and roll. After 3 rapid incidents of this type, the upper rudder yaw damper was disconnected and aircraft control returned to normal. Advised departure control we had experienced a flight control problem but anticipated no further problems. An emergency was not declared, but asked for the trucks to standby as a precaution. Landing at dfw was uneventful.

Title: AN LGT HAD A FLT CTL PROBLEM THAT REQUIRED AN IMMEDIATE LNDG. THE CRASH CREW WAS ALERTED.

Narrative: DURING CLB THROUGH ABOUT 6000 FT, ACFT BEGAN TO YAW AND ROLL. AFTER 3 RAPID INCIDENTS OF THIS TYPE, THE UPPER RUDDER YAW DAMPER WAS DISCONNECTED AND ACFT CTL RETURNED TO NORMAL. ADVISED DEP CTL WE HAD EXPERIENCED A FLT CTL PROBLEM BUT ANTICIPATED NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. AN EMER WAS NOT DECLARED, BUT ASKED FOR THE TRUCKS TO STANDBY AS A PRECAUTION. LNDG AT DFW WAS UNEVENTFUL.
