Narrative:
We had some major frequency problems on sun morning 9/92. The frequency you selected at 1 sector would transmit there and be received somewhere else. 3 of the 4 arrival sectors were cross channeled like this. Thankfully there were no dangerous situations, but controllers were forced to scramble to keep the system safe. What really burns me is the whole situation was needless, it resulted from sloppy work and a total lack of radio checks. Management remains arrogant, believing they need no controller input on how to best accomplish the many tasks entailed in our TRACON expansion. Because of this we have had numerous situations develop that are less than ideal. This happens to be the latest, and most serious, in a long line of errors and oversights.
