Narrative:
Taxi in to msy, overshot entrance to gate. While correcting back to taxi line, left engine jet blast caused ground equipment parked behind a cargo carrier medium large transport to be blown into left extended flap causing minor damage. Contributing factors: captain unfamiliar with angle of approach to gate (not as depicted in manual). Turning left into gate with right engine shut down (to keep ptu from running -- less noise for passenger). Proximity of medium large transport to approach to gate. Amount of ground equipment left parked behind medium large transport. Air carrier gate taxi-in line depicted incorrectly on chart.

Title: ACR Y SUFFERS JET BLAST ENCOUNTER FROM ACR X DURING RAMP OP ACFT PARKING PROC.
Narrative: TAXI IN TO MSY, OVERSHOT ENTRANCE TO GATE. WHILE CORRECTING BACK TO TAXI LINE, L ENG JET BLAST CAUSED GND EQUIP PARKED BEHIND A CARGO CARRIER MLG TO BE BLOWN INTO L EXTENDED FLAP CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: CAPT UNFAMILIAR WITH ANGLE OF APCH TO GATE (NOT AS DEPICTED IN MANUAL). TURNING L INTO GATE WITH R ENG SHUT DOWN (TO KEEP PTU FROM RUNNING -- LESS NOISE FOR PAX). PROX OF MLG TO APCH TO GATE. AMOUNT OF GND EQUIP LEFT PARKED BEHIND MLG. ACR GATE TAXI-IN LINE DEPICTED INCORRECTLY ON CHART.
