Narrative:
Tower controller issued clearance onto runway 28L at intersection J. Final items of before takeoff checklist completed. Captain's leg. Both flight directors armed (captain flight director master). Autothrottles armed. Throttles advanced and engines appeared to stabilize. Subsequent to initial power application and prior to autothrottle activation, a very loud bang was heard accompanied by a significant right yaw. Egt on right engine began to climb rapidly. The takeoff was rejected by the captain. No fire warning or bell. Tower reported smoke. Air carrier aircraft on the ground behind our aircraft reported smoke and fire from 2 engine. Captain ordered evacuate/evacuation. All 128 passenger, 2 jumpseat riders and 6 crew members were evacuate/evacuationed without injury. All appropriate checklist procedures and FARS were completed and complied with.

Title: ACR MLG PAX EVACED AFTER ABORTED TKOF AND AN ENG GND FIRE RPTED BY TWR AND OTHER ACR.
Narrative: TWR CTLR ISSUED CLRNC ONTO RWY 28L AT INTXN J. FINAL ITEMS OF BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST COMPLETED. CAPT'S LEG. BOTH FLT DIRECTORS ARMED (CAPT FLT DIRECTOR MASTER). AUTOTHROTTLES ARMED. THROTTLES ADVANCED AND ENGS APPEARED TO STABILIZE. SUBSEQUENT TO INITIAL PWR APPLICATION AND PRIOR TO AUTOTHROTTLE ACTIVATION, A VERY LOUD BANG WAS HEARD ACCOMPANIED BY A SIGNIFICANT R YAW. EGT ON R ENG BEGAN TO CLB RAPIDLY. THE TKOF WAS REJECTED BY THE CAPT. NO FIRE WARNING OR BELL. TWR RPTED SMOKE. ACR ACFT ON THE GND BEHIND OUR ACFT RPTED SMOKE AND FIRE FROM 2 ENG. CAPT ORDERED EVAC.
