Narrative:
Following approximately .8 of flight time, aircraft experienced engine loss of power following at touch and go. Engine began to sputter and run rough. At approximately 250-300 of altitude past the upwind numbers, I turned the aircraft back towards the upwind numbers and declared my intentions over the unicom frequency. Aircraft on landing experienced hard landing nose wheel buckled and aircraft slid to a complete stop. There were no injuries or damaged property except for the aircraft itself. Aircraft was then towed to FBO flight line. Cost and damages to aircraft have not yet been determined. Delay in reporting these actions was due to the lack of availability of NASA forms.

Title: AN SMA PLT LANDED HARD AFTER SUFFERING A MAJOR PWR LOSS.
Narrative: FOLLOWING APPROX .8 OF FLT TIME, ACFT EXPERIENCED ENG LOSS OF PWR FOLLOWING AT TOUCH AND GO. ENG BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND RUN ROUGH. AT APPROX 250-300 OF ALT PAST THE UPWIND NUMBERS, I TURNED THE ACFT BACK TOWARDS THE UPWIND NUMBERS AND DECLARED MY INTENTIONS OVER THE UNICOM FREQ. ACFT ON LNDG EXPERIENCED HARD LNDG NOSE WHEEL BUCKLED AND ACFT SLID TO A COMPLETE STOP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR DAMAGED PROPERTY EXCEPT FOR THE ACFT ITSELF. ACFT WAS THEN TOWED TO FBO FLT LINE. COST AND DAMAGES TO ACFT HAVE NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED. DELAY IN RPTING THESE ACTIONS WAS DUE TO THE LACK OF AVAILABILITY OF NASA FORMS.
