Narrative:
2 vors installed, 1 may be inoperative if LF available en route and in terminal area. MEL doesn't give any credit for IRS navigation even though airplane is certified for ETOPS operations. So MEL doesn't make sense. I was talked into flight by dispatch and maintenance control, even though letter of law would have said no! By the time I reached destination, company had recognized error and planned maintenance ferry home. I was swayed by: 1) 8-10 of my respected peers had flown it without comment. 2) dispatcher and 2 maintenance control guys ganged up on me. 3) pressure (self induced) not to cancel in middle of night.

Title: ACR PIC HAS ACFT SUFFERING FROM AN ACFT EQUIP PROB AND IS TALKED INTO TAKING ACFT ON FLT BY DISPATCHER AND ACR MAINT SUPVR.
Narrative: 2 VORS INSTALLED, 1 MAY BE INOP IF LF AVAILABLE ENRTE AND IN TERMINAL AREA. MEL DOESN'T GIVE ANY CREDIT FOR IRS NAV EVEN THOUGH AIRPLANE IS CERTIFIED FOR ETOPS OPS.
