Narrative:
Shortly after takeoff at newark, I noticed thin, almost odorless smoke in cockpit. Called to captain's attention! He agreed. Declared emergency with departure. Returned to newark. Uneventful landing. No egress. P.south. During taxi out, flight attendants reported aft jump seat inoperative. Instructed them to use aft passenger seats nearest emergency exist.

Narrative: SHORTLY AFTER TKOF AT NEWARK, I NOTICED THIN, ALMOST ODORLESS SMOKE IN COCKPIT. CALLED TO CAPT'S ATTN! HE AGREED. DECLARED EMER WITH DEP. RETURNED TO NEWARK. UNEVENTFUL LNDG. NO EGRESS. P.S. DURING TAXI OUT, FLT ATTENDANTS RPTED AFT JUMP SEAT INOP. INSTRUCTED THEM TO USE AFT PAX SEATS NEAREST EMER EXIST.
