Narrative:

Our aircraft was cleared to land runway 24 at apc. An small aircraft had been cleared to land behind us as #2. Small aircraft was not in sight and was assumed to have passed on the left. As final flaps were extended, an small aircraft was observed in a steep left turn to final just ahead of us. An evasive turn was made to the left, gear and flaps retracted and maximum power applied. We passed over the aircraft in very close proximity, then entered downwind for runway 18R and landed with no further problems. This right turn was not possible due to heavy traffic in right pattern.
