Narrative:
Getting ready for first solo traffic pattern touch and go and simulated engine outs. Runway in use 22 wind approximately 250-270 10- 12 mph approximately. Power off at 800 ft AGL downwind, student immediately established best glide speed 80 mph turn directly to runway. I believed we had the runway made last turn on runway getting slow and low. I said 'power' instead of myself adding full power. Student added partial power. Immediately I added full power. We touched down left wing low and scraped the wing tip. Full power had us go around. Airplane is still airworthy. Perceptions. I believed we had the runway made. I let the landing go too far before I took control. Should have added positive power myself. I should have had my hand on the throttle.

Narrative: GETTING READY FOR FIRST SOLO TFC PATTERN TOUCH AND GO AND SIMULATED ENG OUTS. RWY IN USE 22 WIND APPROX 250-270 10- 12 MPH APPROX. PWR OFF AT 800 FT AGL DOWNWIND, STUDENT IMMEDIATELY ESTABLISHED BEST GLIDE SPD 80 MPH TURN DIRECTLY TO RWY. I BELIEVED WE HAD THE RWY MADE LAST TURN ON RWY GETTING SLOW AND LOW. I SAID 'PWR' INSTEAD OF MYSELF ADDING FULL PWR. STUDENT ADDED PARTIAL PWR. IMMEDIATELY I ADDED FULL PWR. WE TOUCHED DOWN L WING LOW AND SCRAPED THE WING TIP. FULL PWR HAD US GAR. AIRPLANE IS STILL AIRWORTHY. PERCEPTIONS. I BELIEVED WE HAD THE RWY MADE. I LET THE LNDG GO TOO FAR BEFORE I TOOK CTL. SHOULD HAVE ADDED POSITIVE PWR MYSELF. I SHOULD HAVE HAD MY HAND ON THE THROTTLE.
