Narrative:

This is a recurring problem with no procedure to correct such problem. While working a string of inbound aircraft to dtw, 3 like call signs were noted. Air carrier X, air carrier Y, air carrier Z. Aircraft transversed 3 sectors from ny area. The 3 aircraft were 10 mi in trail of each other. It is very difficult to make sure that only the intended aircraft takes the clearance. If we could get each airline to consider this factor when they assign flight numbers it would make things much easier.
