Narrative:
Nov/tue/92, approximately PM20Z, FL330, .79 mach over champ intersection. We had numerous ECAM warnings (alerts) of several different malfunctions with the airplane. System were crosschecked and it was determined to be a faulty alert system. The aircraft suddenly swayed and the autoplt was disconnected. Aircraft yawed again along with stick shaker. Ny was contacted for a return to norfolk, va, our nearest airfield. An emergency was declared due to possible flight control malfunctions and the continuing of the alert messages. Passing through FL250, the warnings ceased. 60 NM from orf at 10000 MSL, a ctlability check was performed. With landing flaps and gear extended, aircraft handled well. Cleaned up, followed by normal uneventful landing at orf. The flight warning computer had failed according to our maintenance people.
