Narrative:

I was working arrival to runway 27R at ord. Simultaneous runway 27L/right approachs in use. Atx X was given to me by the feeder controller on downwind. I descended him to 4000. Atx Y was on base leg, 20 NM northeast ord, at 7000, in a group of 3 aircraft. I descended the first aircraft, atx Y, to 4000 ft, but meant to descend atx Y to 5000. I said 4000. Read back 4000. I didn't catch it. A severe case of cerebral flatulence in the heat of battle. When the other arrival controller pointed out the conflict, I climbed atx Y back to 5000 and told him that's what his assigned altitude was. My awareness is at fault -- I mis-spoke.
