Narrative:

Air carrier flight number from gtf to hnl on V-21 centerline, cruise at 10000 (MEA) just switched from slc center to helena approach. I noticed a movement of the radio altimeter (at MEA altitudes, this is not unusual) but a few seconds later, the GPWS terrain warning sounding . Since I was IMC, I immediately disconnected the autoplt throttles and started a climb. The terrain warning stopped after approximately 400 ft and I chose to level at 12000 (actually went as high as 12300 before leveling) this information was immediately relayed to hnl. My concern is if hln relayed the reason for my climb -- GPWS warning.
