Narrative:
Airlines flight lgw-iah cruising FL290, IMC, under radar vector from scottish control, frequency 135.85, squawking abcd, received TCASII TA -- noted red symbol at 11:30 close in. Approximately 10 seconds later, received 'climb' command 1500 FPM from TCASII. Noted TCASII altitude differential at 700 ft. Captain disconnected autoplt, turned right and started immediate climb. Spotted aircraft at 10 O'clock about 1000 ft away (IMC) appeared to be an air carrier medium large transport. We climbed to FL293 to resolve conflict. Passed above and ahead of other aircraft, then received 'clear of conflict' from TCASII and returned to FL290 and assigned course. I do not believe we came closer than 1000 ft to other aircraft.

Narrative: AIRLINES FLT LGW-IAH CRUISING FL290, IMC, UNDER RADAR VECTOR FROM SCOTTISH CTL, FREQ 135.85, SQUAWKING ABCD, RECEIVED TCASII TA -- NOTED RED SYMBOL AT 11:30 CLOSE IN. APPROX 10 SECONDS LATER, RECEIVED 'CLB' COMMAND 1500 FPM FROM TCASII. NOTED TCASII ALT DIFFERENTIAL AT 700 FT. CAPT DISCONNECTED AUTOPLT, TURNED R AND STARTED IMMEDIATE CLB. SPOTTED ACFT AT 10 O'CLOCK ABOUT 1000 FT AWAY (IMC) APPEARED TO BE AN ACR MLG. WE CLBED TO FL293 TO RESOLVE CONFLICT. PASSED ABOVE AND AHEAD OF OTHER ACFT, THEN RECEIVED 'CLR OF CONFLICT' FROM TCASII AND RETURNED TO FL290 AND ASSIGNED COURSE. I DO NOT BELIEVE WE CAME CLOSER THAN 1000 FT TO OTHER ACFT.
