Narrative:
Taxiing from the runup area to runway 17L we pulled up behind another aircraft. The other aircraft was delayed by approach control for departure. Our aircraft was advised to taxi into position and hold. While trying to make a hard right turn, my student did not stop when I advised him. Our left wingtip hit the tail of the other aircraft. It scraped the paint on our wingtip. No damage visible to the other aircraft. A contributing factor was that the co-pilot side did not have brakes. Supplemental information from acn 229179: I started to taxi south (left) of small aircraft 2 but, due to ice and snowpack, my instructor said to go between small aircraft 2 and the other waiting small aircraft 3 to the north. Both planes departed to the hold line and both departed. To prevent recurrence, the next time I will refuse to taxi when in congested traffic.

Title: AN SMA HIT THE TAIL OF ANOTHER SMA WITH HIS WINGTIP WHILE TAXIING. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE OR INJURY.
Narrative: TAXIING FROM THE RUNUP AREA TO RWY 17L WE PULLED UP BEHIND ANOTHER ACFT. THE OTHER ACFT WAS DELAYED BY APCH CTL FOR DEP. OUR ACFT WAS ADVISED TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD. WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A HARD R TURN, MY STUDENT DID NOT STOP WHEN I ADVISED HIM. OUR L WINGTIP HIT THE TAIL OF THE OTHER ACFT. IT SCRAPED THE PAINT ON OUR WINGTIP. NO DAMAGE VISIBLE TO THE OTHER ACFT. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THAT THE CO-PLT SIDE DID NOT HAVE BRAKES. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 229179: I STARTED TO TAXI S (L) OF SMA 2 BUT, DUE TO ICE AND SNOWPACK, MY INSTRUCTOR SAID TO GO BTWN SMA 2 AND THE OTHER WAITING SMA 3 TO THE N. BOTH PLANES DEPARTED TO THE HOLD LINE AND BOTH DEPARTED. TO PREVENT RECURRENCE, THE NEXT TIME I WILL REFUSE TO TAXI WHEN IN CONGESTED TFC.
