Narrative:
This is almost a double-take of the lax accident. Tank god I questioned the controller. The WX was lousy on taxi out. Air carrier X told we had a release time of XX52, we were told to hold short of the ILS hold line which we did. After landing traffic and 5 mins before our release time, tower gave us position and hold on runway 23. After holding about 4 mins in position, my sixth sense did not like holding on the runway with the WX that bad, so I informed the controller. Air carrier X was still in position. With that, an air carrier checked on landing. The controller told him standby for a possible go around, then cleared us for takeoff. The controller forgot all about us in position on the runway and had landing traffic -- believe me, with that uncomfortable feeling, I had saved the day because these controllers were in la la land.

Title: ACR X POS AND HOLD ON ACTIVE RWY WITH LOW VISIBILITY WX. IMPENDING LNDG ON OCCUPIED RWY. OPDEV.
Narrative: THIS IS ALMOST A DOUBLE-TAKE OF THE LAX ACCIDENT. TANK GOD I QUESTIONED THE CTLR. THE WX WAS LOUSY ON TAXI OUT. ACR X TOLD WE HAD A RELEASE TIME OF XX52, WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF THE ILS HOLD LINE WHICH WE DID. AFTER LNDG TFC AND 5 MINS BEFORE OUR RELEASE TIME, TWR GAVE US POS AND HOLD ON RWY 23. AFTER HOLDING ABOUT 4 MINS IN POS, MY SIXTH SENSE DID NOT LIKE HOLDING ON THE RWY WITH THE WX THAT BAD, SO I INFORMED THE CTLR. ACR X WAS STILL IN POS. WITH THAT, AN ACR CHKED ON LNDG. THE CTLR TOLD HIM STANDBY FOR A POSSIBLE GAR, THEN CLRED US FOR TKOF. THE CTLR FORGOT ALL ABOUT US IN POS ON THE RWY AND HAD LNDG TFC -- BELIEVE ME, WITH THAT UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING, I HAD SAVED THE DAY BECAUSE THESE CTLRS WERE IN LA LA LAND.
