Narrative:
In-flight diversion due to left engine generator and APU generator being inoperative. Air carrier flight from oakland, ca, to dallas ft worth airport. While holding short for takeoff in oakland, our left generator tripped off the line. We attempted 1 generator reset with negative results. We returned to the gate for maintenance. Flight control advised air carrier Y contract maintenance to MEL left generator. A new release was signed and we once again departed oak with the right generator and APU generator operating. While cruising at 33000 ft the APU shut down on its own. We descended to 29000 ft and restarted the APU. Initially the APU RPM was 102 percent and the cps were 412 (out of limits). After about 2 mins the RPM was 106 and cps were 420. The APU was shut down. After confirming with air carrier flight control, it was decided to divert to slc, the nearest suitable diversion field. On approach the APU was restarted. The volts and frequencys were within limits so we used it as a backup during our CAT I approach and landing.

Title: FLC OF ACR MLG ACFT DIVERTED TO LAND WHEN LOOSING 2 OUT OF 3 ACFT GENERATORS.
Narrative: INFLT DIVERSION DUE TO L ENG GENERATOR AND APU GENERATOR BEING INOP. ACR FLT FROM OAKLAND, CA, TO DALLAS FT WORTH ARPT. WHILE HOLDING SHORT FOR TKOF IN OAKLAND, OUR L GENERATOR TRIPPED OFF THE LINE. WE ATTEMPTED 1 GENERATOR RESET WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. WE RETURNED TO THE GATE FOR MAINT. FLT CTL ADVISED ACR Y CONTRACT MAINT TO MEL L GENERATOR. A NEW RELEASE WAS SIGNED AND WE ONCE AGAIN DEPARTED OAK WITH THE R GENERATOR AND APU GENERATOR OPERATING. WHILE CRUISING AT 33000 FT THE APU SHUT DOWN ON ITS OWN. WE DSNDED TO 29000 FT AND RESTARTED THE APU. INITIALLY THE APU RPM WAS 102 PERCENT AND THE CPS WERE 412 (OUT OF LIMITS). AFTER ABOUT 2 MINS THE RPM WAS 106 AND CPS WERE 420. THE APU WAS SHUT DOWN. AFTER CONFIRMING WITH ACR FLT CTL, IT WAS DECIDED TO DIVERT TO SLC, THE NEAREST SUITABLE DIVERSION FIELD. ON APCH THE APU WAS RESTARTED. THE VOLTS AND FREQS WERE WITHIN LIMITS SO WE USED IT AS A BACKUP DURING OUR CAT I APCH AND LNDG.
