Narrative:
Air carrier X holding short of runway 29 behind aircraft on taxiway south, ground control issues a clearance to preceding aircraft to taxi across runway 29 and then issues same clearance to us to cross runway 29. Proper radio phraseology is used acknowledging clearance to cross runway 29. An air carrier Y holding on runway 29 apparently is issued a takeoff clearance and begins takeoff roll approaching our right wing as we are perpendicular to runway 29 while crossing on taxiway south. A low speed abort was made by air carrier Y who was taking off on runway 29. No real danger to passenger or aircraft observed.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR Y TKOF ON OCCUPIED RWY ABORTED TKOF HAD LTSS FROM ACR X RWY INCURSION. SYS ERROR.
Narrative: ACR X HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 29 BEHIND ACFT ON TXWY S, GND CTL ISSUES A CLRNC TO PRECEDING ACFT TO TAXI ACROSS RWY 29 AND THEN ISSUES SAME CLRNC TO US TO CROSS RWY 29. PROPER RADIO PHRASEOLOGY IS USED ACKNOWLEDGING CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 29. AN ACR Y HOLDING ON RWY 29 APPARENTLY IS ISSUED A TKOF CLRNC AND BEGINS TKOF ROLL APCHING OUR R WING AS WE ARE PERPENDICULAR TO RWY 29 WHILE XING ON TXWY S. A LOW SPD ABORT WAS MADE BY ACR Y WHO WAS TAKING OFF ON RWY 29. NO REAL DANGER TO PAX OR ACFT OBSERVED.
