Narrative:
Flight conditions were cloud layer from FL200 through FL230 with continuous light turbulence. Other aircraft was, according to den ATC an small transport twin. We were notified of traffic by ATC at 12 O'clock 5 mins ahead at FL220 and that we would be given a climb after 5 mins. ATC then notified other aircraft of our position and altitude (I can't remember his response). We then saw him on TCASII. After that, we got an RA 'descend!' verbally, and an indication of 2000 FPM. I disconnected the autoplt and complied. At about 2300 FPM we got a 'monitor vertical speed' verbal message and at FL205 a 'clear of conflict' verbal message. In leveling off, we descended to FL203 and then began to climb back up. According to our TCASII, we missed the traffic by 600 ft. We notified ATC of our TCASII alert.

Title: ALTDEV ALT OVERSHOT IN CLB RESULTS IN TCASII RA ON SAME DIRECTION TFC, MANDATING EVASIVE ACTION DSCNT. ALT EXCURSION. PROX OF TFC. POTENTIAL CONFLICT LTSS.
Narrative: FLT CONDITIONS WERE CLOUD LAYER FROM FL200 THROUGH FL230 WITH CONTINUOUS LIGHT TURB. OTHER ACFT WAS, ACCORDING TO DEN ATC AN SMT TWIN. WE WERE NOTIFIED OF TFC BY ATC AT 12 O'CLOCK 5 MINS AHEAD AT FL220 AND THAT WE WOULD BE GIVEN A CLB AFTER 5 MINS. ATC THEN NOTIFIED OTHER ACFT OF OUR POS AND ALT (I CAN'T REMEMBER HIS RESPONSE). WE THEN SAW HIM ON TCASII. AFTER THAT, WE GOT AN RA 'DSND!' VERBALLY, AND AN INDICATION OF 2000 FPM. I DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT AND COMPLIED. AT ABOUT 2300 FPM WE GOT A 'MONITOR VERT SPD' VERBAL MESSAGE AND AT FL205 A 'CLR OF CONFLICT' VERBAL MESSAGE. IN LEVELING OFF, WE DSNDED TO FL203 AND THEN BEGAN TO CLB BACK UP. ACCORDING TO OUR TCASII, WE MISSED THE TFC BY 600 FT. WE NOTIFIED ATC OF OUR TCASII ALERT.
