Narrative:
I was caught cheating on the ATP-121 written examination at an aviation flight school. The man running the examination took the test book out of my hands and found 2 pieces of paper in the back of the book. I wanted to address the situation, so we both walked across the street to the FAA field office in van nuys. I talked with a FAA flight safety inspector. I asked her what is the FAA going to do to me? After I explained what happened, she told me what could happen to me and what to expect. She also suggested that I fill out a NASA report. Factors that brought on this situation was the fact I was rushing and pushing myself to get my ATP-121 writtens so I can get my ATP flight certificate before my upcoming airlines interview that was exactly 1 month away from the test. I convinced myself that I needed to have that ATP flight certificate in order to get hired by that airline. Due to that enormous pressure I placed upon myself, my judgement was hindered considerably. That pressure was the reason why I didn't want to fail that written examination. That pressure was the reason why I cheated on that ATP-121 written examination. I know I can't change the past, the past can only change me. I know I will never do anything like that again. I made a terrible mistake. I am very, very sorry. I will live with that mistake for the rest of my life. Now as I situation and wait for the FAA to punish me, I accept my responsibility and I am ready to face my punishment. As I wait, and for the rest of my life, there won't be an hour that passes by that I don't think about the terrible mistake I made. That in itself will prevent a recurrence of this situation.
