Narrative:
During preflight I saw 48 gallons of fuel on board. Noticed no indications of fuel leaks -- vents, drains, cowl. Ran out of fuel at approximately 2.4-2.6 hours hobbs time. Landed on ice, slight damage to nose gear (not noticed at the time). FBO manitowoc brought out 10 gallons. Flew to manitowoc. Total fuel purchase manitowoc 21.1 gallons. Returned to timmerman, milwaukee, total flight time -- 4 lndgs, 3.6 hours hobbs. Tanks topped 1 day later, 56.1 gallons, 60 gallon capacity. Conversation with green bay over phone at farm house after landing. 'I landed for check of rough magnetos and possible fuel problem. I couldn't believe I was out of fuel.' nose gear is being repaired. At this time the fuel problem has not been found, but investigation will continue and plane will not be flown across country until problem has been corrected.
