Narrative:

Descending out of FL190 to 11000 ft. Co-captain in right seat. Went off center frequency to get lga ATIS. Upon reaching 11000 ft, center asked to confirm altitude. I replied level 11000 ft. Center came back 'you are 600 ft low, climb back to 11000 ft.' I replied, 'we are level 11000 ft.' center said, 'climb back to 12000 ft, altimeter 29.31.' my altitude was 30.31. Both of us were very tired and had not gotten a chance to eat yet. I know myself. I do not operate very well on empty. However, as captain I should have had my co-captain complete the landing preliminary checks before he went off center to obtain the ATIS.
