Narrative:
At cruise (10000 ft MSL) we received a TCASII TA immediately followed by an RA advising us to climb. At the same time ATC was calling traffic that should be stopping at 9000 ft. We could not visually confirm his call so we followed TCASII with a gradual climb to 10400 ft before TCASII indicated clear, notifying ATC that we followed a TCASII warning/conflict and we were returning to 10000 ft.

Title: LGT CLBS 450 FT ABOVE ASSIGNED ALT IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII RA.
Narrative: AT CRUISE (10000 FT MSL) WE RECEIVED A TCASII TA IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY AN RA ADVISING US TO CLB. AT THE SAME TIME ATC WAS CALLING TFC THAT SHOULD BE STOPPING AT 9000 FT. WE COULD NOT VISUALLY CONFIRM HIS CALL SO WE FOLLOWED TCASII WITH A GRADUAL CLB TO 10400 FT BEFORE TCASII INDICATED CLR, NOTIFYING ATC THAT WE FOLLOWED A TCASII WARNING/CONFLICT AND WE WERE RETURNING TO 10000 FT.
