Narrative:
I've reported this to the approach controllers at least 6 times (or more) in the last yr, and again yesterday and today. On tus approach frequency 128.5, the controller's xmissions often times get clipped (or are broken). It sounds like a faulty microphone switch or an intermittent transmitter. This is a very serious problem and is quite well known by the local pilots -- many of us advise of it when it happens. No action seems to be forthcoming from tucson and the problem still exists. The controllers are quite professional and courteous, but it is a dangerous situation with portions of xmissions getting omitted on a frequent basis.
