Narrative:
We were told to taxi into position and hold. After we were in position I heard a plane cleared for takeoff. I didn't hear the words 'air carrier flight number' so I looked at the captain with a questioning look. He nodded yes so I read back the clearance air carrier flight number cleared for takeoff. I did the takeoff checklist and we started our takeoff, after a couple of seconds the captain noticed a plane taking off on the intersecting runway and he pulled the power back and we stopped. At that moment the tower also told us to stop. I thought the other aircraft had taken off without clearance so asked the tower. To my surprise it was us who had not received a clearance. I relied on the captain when I should have asked for the clearance to be repeated. Cmi tower also must not have heard my readback of the clearance. The captain was on a 8-HR reduced rest with less than 7 hours sleep. Mistakes like this will keep happening as long as tired crews are manning our planes. Reduced rest doesn't work and is very dangerous. The regulations must be changed so that reduced rest is not allows.

Title: LTT BEGINS TKOF WITHOUT CLRNC WHILE ANOTHER ACFT BEGINS TKOF ON INTERSECTING RWY.
Narrative: WE WERE TOLD TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD. AFTER WE WERE IN POS I HEARD A PLANE CLRED FOR TKOF. I DIDN'T HEAR THE WORDS 'ACR FLT NUMBER' SO I LOOKED AT THE CAPT WITH A QUESTIONING LOOK. HE NODDED YES SO I READ BACK THE CLRNC ACR FLT NUMBER CLRED FOR TKOF. I DID THE TKOF CHKLIST AND WE STARTED OUR TKOF, AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS THE CAPT NOTICED A PLANE TAKING OFF ON THE INTERSECTING RWY AND HE PULLED THE PWR BACK AND WE STOPPED. AT THAT MOMENT THE TWR ALSO TOLD US TO STOP. I THOUGHT THE OTHER ACFT HAD TAKEN OFF WITHOUT CLRNC SO ASKED THE TWR. TO MY SURPRISE IT WAS US WHO HAD NOT RECEIVED A CLRNC. I RELIED ON THE CAPT WHEN I SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR THE CLRNC TO BE REPEATED. CMI TWR ALSO MUST NOT HAVE HEARD MY READBACK OF THE CLRNC. THE CAPT WAS ON A 8-HR REDUCED REST WITH LESS THAN 7 HRS SLEEP. MISTAKES LIKE THIS WILL KEEP HAPPENING AS LONG AS TIRED CREWS ARE MANNING OUR PLANES. REDUCED REST DOESN'T WORK AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE REGS MUST BE CHANGED SO THAT REDUCED REST IS NOT ALLOWS.
