Narrative:
In sum: private pilot hit a hangar door with his wingtip while trying to taxi, presumably for the first time, in an icy and snowy condition at I14. The ramp was freshly plowed and the pilot had no help in moving the aircraft out of the hangar and no experience with taxiing on slick surfaces. Apparently the instructor was in the flight office where it was warm.
