Narrative:
While landing at bkl airport after having been cleared to land on runway 24L, I inadvertently landed on the parallel taxiway. It should be explained however that the concrete runways were partially snow covered. The adjacent grass also was partially covered by dirty snow making it practically impossible to clearly identify the runways from a distance. A section of the parallel taxiway being of black asphalt was clear of snow, clearly visible and appeared to be runway 24L. The poor straight ahead visibility out of my biplane undoubtedly contributed to this mistake, which I regret. I became aware of my mistake only after rollout while looking for a turnoff. There were no other aircraft using the taxiway during my landing and I am not sure the tower operator was aware of my transgression.

Title: SMA PLT LANDS ON TXWY INADVERTENTLY.
Narrative: WHILE LNDG AT BKL ARPT AFTER HAVING BEEN CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 24L, I INADVERTENTLY LANDED ON THE PARALLEL TXWY. IT SHOULD BE EXPLAINED HOWEVER THAT THE CONCRETE RWYS WERE PARTIALLY SNOW COVERED. THE ADJACENT GRASS ALSO WAS PARTIALLY COVERED BY DIRTY SNOW MAKING IT PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CLRLY IDENT THE RWYS FROM A DISTANCE. A SECTION OF THE PARALLEL TXWY BEING OF BLACK ASPHALT WAS CLR OF SNOW, CLRLY VISIBLE AND APPEARED TO BE RWY 24L. THE POOR STRAIGHT AHEAD VISIBILITY OUT OF MY BIPLANE UNDOUBTEDLY CONTRIBUTED TO THIS MISTAKE, WHICH I REGRET. I BECAME AWARE OF MY MISTAKE ONLY AFTER ROLLOUT WHILE LOOKING FOR A TURNOFF. THERE WERE NO OTHER ACFT USING THE TXWY DURING MY LNDG AND I AM NOT SURE THE TWR OPERATOR WAS AWARE OF MY TRANSGRESSION.
