Narrative:
Altitude deviation due to convective activity. Could not maintain assigned altitude (7000 ft MSL). Descended to 6500 ft MSL, then climbed to 7500 ft MSL attempting to correct. Due to convective up and down currents, could not maintain assigned altitude. Heading deviations were approved by ATC for WX.
