Narrative:
On approach into albany, ny, for runway 1 (IMC conditions) level 2500 ft MSL, heading 030, radar vector from approach control 5 mi southwest of delmy. Received a continuous 'terrain, terrain' indication from our GPWS for approximately 10 seconds. Initiated a climb to approximately 3500 ft MSL. Notified approach control of the climb. After landing, we called approach control and they informed us that we were above minimum vectoring altitude. Discussed the problem with company technical services. We decided the warning probably caused by temporary glitch in radio altimeter.

Title: GPWS ALARM CAUSES ACR FLC TO EXECUTE AN ALTDEV ALT EXCURSION.
Narrative: ON APCH INTO ALBANY, NY, FOR RWY 1 (IMC CONDITIONS) LEVEL 2500 FT MSL, HDG 030, RADAR VECTOR FROM APCH CTL 5 MI SW OF DELMY. RECEIVED A CONTINUOUS 'TERRAIN, TERRAIN' INDICATION FROM OUR GPWS FOR APPROX 10 SECONDS. INITIATED A CLB TO APPROX 3500 FT MSL. NOTIFIED APCH CTL OF THE CLB. AFTER LNDG, WE CALLED APCH CTL AND THEY INFORMED US THAT WE WERE ABOVE MINIMUM VECTORING ALT. DISCUSSED THE PROB WITH COMPANY TECHNICAL SVCS. WE DECIDED THE WARNING PROBABLY CAUSED BY TEMPORARY GLITCH IN RADIO ALTIMETER.
