Narrative:
After resolving a conflict between cpr X and small transport Y at the same altitude on converging courses, the wescom 921 communication (ATC) system failed resulting in the complete loss of communication with the 2 aircraft. This report is submitted to draw attention to the potential unsafe situation that may have occurred if the system had failed a few mins early. Had the system failed only 2 mins earlier, the 2 aircraft would have been at the same altitude when their flight courses merged.
