Narrative:
Aircraft was on final crossing threshold to runway 29 in high and gusty wind condition (15 KTS gust to 25 KTS). While maintaining 70 KTS airspeed, nose pitched down and hit runway. The plane bounced back into the air and nosed down to the runway 4-5 times before control was regained by adding power. After final stop I checked the aircraft and found the front tire rim bent. The tire and strut were still fine. As of this writing only the front rim was bent and sheet metal fairing on the main gear was wrinkled. No structural damage was found. Another pilot on board and I feel it was a wind gust or wind shear that caused the nose to pitch down. I feel that better power management was needed to recover from the first nose landing. As of this writing, the FBO believes that after the nose rim is replaced, the aircraft will be returned to service. Hard landing inspection is not completed yet.

Title: PLT OF SMA SEL ACFT MADE A HARD LNDG AFTER LOOSING ACFT CTL DURING GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE ACFT.
Narrative: ACFT WAS ON FINAL XING THRESHOLD TO RWY 29 IN HIGH AND GUSTY WIND CONDITION (15 KTS GUST TO 25 KTS). WHILE MAINTAINING 70 KTS AIRSPD, NOSE PITCHED DOWN AND HIT RWY. THE PLANE BOUNCED BACK INTO THE AIR AND NOSED DOWN TO THE RWY 4-5 TIMES BEFORE CTL WAS REGAINED BY ADDING PWR. AFTER FINAL STOP I CHKED THE ACFT AND FOUND THE FRONT TIRE RIM BENT. THE TIRE AND STRUT WERE STILL FINE. AS OF THIS WRITING ONLY THE FRONT RIM WAS BENT AND SHEET METAL FAIRING ON THE MAIN GEAR WAS WRINKLED. NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS FOUND. ANOTHER PLT ON BOARD AND I FEEL IT WAS A WIND GUST OR WIND SHEAR THAT CAUSED THE NOSE TO PITCH DOWN. I FEEL THAT BETTER PWR MGMNT WAS NEEDED TO RECOVER FROM THE FIRST NOSE LNDG. AS OF THIS WRITING, THE FBO BELIEVES THAT AFTER THE NOSE RIM IS REPLACED, THE ACFT WILL BE RETURNED TO SVC. HARD LNDG INSPECTION IS NOT COMPLETED YET.
