Narrative:
Flight jfk direct bdl, taking off runway 13R, an air carrier widebody transport 'appeared' to incur on my runway. I say appear because it was approximately 3 mi away. Runway 13R is over 14000 ft. We were at V1 and the decision was made to continue. We could not tell for certain whether or not he was in fact on our runway or beyond our runway, possibly on another taxiway. After we flew over the widebody transport we did in fact see him on our runway. He crossed at ja-J intersection. The tower said over to departure and before we went over, we questioned whether the widebody transport was in fact on our runway. The tower said 'negative, he was not on your runway.' I believe the tower should have advised us that the widebody transport was holding short for us. When the tower cleared us for takeoff he made no mention of the widebody transport.

WE WERE AT V1 AND THE DECISION WAS MADE TO CONTINUE. WE COULD NOT TELL FOR CERTAIN WHETHER OR NOT HE WAS IN FACT ON OUR RWY OR BEYOND OUR RWY, POSSIBLY ON ANOTHER TXWY. AFTER WE FLEW OVER THE WDB WE DID IN FACT SEE HIM ON OUR RWY. HE CROSSED AT JA-J INTXN. THE TWR SAID OVER TO DEP AND BEFORE WE WENT OVER, WE QUESTIONED WHETHER THE WDB WAS IN FACT ON OUR RWY. THE TWR SAID 'NEGATIVE, HE WAS NOT ON YOUR RWY.' I BELIEVE THE TWR SHOULD HAVE ADVISED US THAT THE WDB WAS HOLDING SHORT FOR US. WHEN THE TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF HE MADE NO MENTION OF THE WDB.
