Narrative:
Tpa tower cleared us onto runway 36L for takeoff. Power was advanced and we received a master caution warning light along with a 'forward entry door' light (indicating forward passenger door open). We aborted the takeoff, cleared the runway and a flight attendant found the forward door handle out of position 1/4 inch. We secured the door and took off without incident. Supplemental information from acn 242906: we noted speed (just off the '60 KT peg'). The door light had gone out about when we cleared the runway.
