Narrative:

We were assigned 8000 ft MSL. Phl called traffic approximately 10 O'clock, climbing out of 6700 ft and they thought it was light twin and thought it would be leveling at 7500 ft. We saw traffic on TCASII and he went from white to yellow to red. The arrow indicated he was climbing and we received an RA. We followed the TCASII command and climbed to 8300 ft. At that time we saw the aircraft and stopped the climb as it was clear we would miss him. Approach was informed that we were following TCASII and we also called back level when the RA was over. No further problem.
