Narrative:

After starting engine noticed low idle RPM. Accomplished procedure per operations manual. Idle improved but still slightly low. Actual idle parameters depend on pressure and temperature. Aircraft engine operated normally otherwise so was taken to destination. Logbook entry was made stating idle parameters. Idle was apparently barely within operational limits. I was confident that operating the aircraft was safe but in retrospect maybe maintenance should have checked low idle before we left departure airport. Flight was without incident.

Title: 1 ENG OF AN MLG ACR ACFT IDLED BELOW NORMAL AFTER START- UP CAUSING CONCERN FOR ITS DEPENDABLE OP AND SUBSEQUENTLY OPERATING THE ACFT WITHOUT MAINT INPUT.

Narrative: AFTER STARTING ENG NOTICED LOW IDLE RPM. ACCOMPLISHED PROC PER OPS MANUAL. IDLE IMPROVED BUT STILL SLIGHTLY LOW. ACTUAL IDLE PARAMETERS DEPEND ON PRESSURE AND TEMP. ACFT ENG OPERATED NORMALLY OTHERWISE SO WAS TAKEN TO DEST. LOGBOOK ENTRY WAS MADE STATING IDLE PARAMETERS. IDLE WAS APPARENTLY BARELY WITHIN OPERATIONAL LIMITS. I WAS CONFIDENT THAT OPERATING THE ACFT WAS SAFE BUT IN RETROSPECT MAYBE MAINT SHOULD HAVE CHKED LOW IDLE BEFORE WE LEFT DEP ARPT. FLT WAS WITHOUT INCIDENT.
