Narrative:
The runways at mvy were recently repaved and narrowed (unbelievable, but true). While the usable portions of the runways were narrowed and defined by white stripes, the actual footprint of asphalt is the same. Example: runway 6/24 was 150 ft wide -- now it is 150 wide but actual width is 100 ft wide as defined by striping. The problem here is that the runway lights were moved from the edge of the asphalt/grass to about 25 ft inside the outside asphalt. The problem occurs at intersection of 24/33 (33 is commonly used as an exit for aircraft landing 6/24). I heard of a number of aircraft hitting taxi lights. It appears that some were removed but just last night a turboprop hit a light. I'm sure you'll get a report. The lights should be moved to the edge of all paved areas.

Title: PLT QUESTIONS THE LOCATION OF THE RWY BOUNDARY LIGHTS AND MARKINGS ON A NEWLY PAVED RWY.
Narrative: THE RWYS AT MVY WERE RECENTLY REPAVED AND NARROWED (UNBELIEVABLE, BUT TRUE). WHILE THE USABLE PORTIONS OF THE RWYS WERE NARROWED AND DEFINED BY WHITE STRIPES, THE ACTUAL FOOTPRINT OF ASPHALT IS THE SAME. EXAMPLE: RWY 6/24 WAS 150 FT WIDE -- NOW IT IS 150 WIDE BUT ACTUAL WIDTH IS 100 FT WIDE AS DEFINED BY STRIPING. THE PROB HERE IS THAT THE RWY LIGHTS WERE MOVED FROM THE EDGE OF THE ASPHALT/GRASS TO ABOUT 25 FT INSIDE THE OUTSIDE ASPHALT. THE PROB OCCURS AT INTXN OF 24/33 (33 IS COMMONLY USED AS AN EXIT FOR ACFT LNDG 6/24). I HEARD OF A NUMBER OF ACFT HITTING TAXI LIGHTS. IT APPEARS THAT SOME WERE REMOVED BUT JUST LAST NIGHT A TURBOPROP HIT A LIGHT. I'M SURE YOU'LL GET A RPT. THE LIGHTS SHOULD BE MOVED TO THE EDGE OF ALL PAVED AREAS.
