Narrative:
We were vectored below clouds for visual approach to runway 28R and given traffic as air carrier Y widebody transport on runway 28L. Widebody transport Y either couldn't or wouldn't stay behind us and drew abreast about 5-6 mi out and was passing. I decided 200 ft wingtip-to-wingtip clearance, especially with a heavy, was insufficient and made missed approach.

Title: PIC OF ACR LGT DOESN'T LIKE THE WINGTIP APCH PROC AT SFO IN A NIGHT OP AND MAKES A MISSED APCH.
Narrative: WE WERE VECTORED BELOW CLOUDS FOR VISUAL APCH TO RWY 28R AND GIVEN TFC AS ACR Y WDB ON RWY 28L. WDB Y EITHER COULDN'T OR WOULDN'T STAY BEHIND US AND DREW ABREAST ABOUT 5-6 MI OUT AND WAS PASSING. I DECIDED 200 FT WINGTIP-TO-WINGTIP CLRNC, ESPECIALLY WITH A HVY, WAS INSUFFICIENT AND MADE MISSED APCH.
