Narrative:
Was en route from iah to mco. Route across gulf of mexico - J86. Had deviated several times for WX and was cleared by ZHU to fly 090 degree heading when clear of WX. Was given 090 degree heading because leeville VOR was off the air. Flew 090 degree heading for some time, had not heard from ATC and realized it time to be talking to different facility. ZHU would not answer on assigned frequency, so we switched to ZJX. Upon contact, they told us to turn right to 180 degrees immediately and squawk 7700, that we were in a warning area. We simply had followed our last ATC clearance and finally inquired when it was apparent the last clearance was not getting us in the vicinity of our intended course. I assume ZHU just forgot about us until we were out of radio range. There was no malfunction with our radios or other audio equipment.

Title: AN ACR LGT WAS VECTORED INTO A RESTR AREA. COMS WERE LOST MOMENTARILY.

WE SIMPLY HAD FOLLOWED OUR LAST ATC CLRNC AND FINALLY INQUIRED WHEN IT WAS APPARENT THE LAST CLRNC WAS NOT GETTING US IN THE VICINITY OF OUR INTENDED COURSE. I ASSUME ZHU JUST FORGOT ABOUT US UNTIL WE WERE OUT OF RADIO RANGE. THERE WAS NO MALFUNCTION WITH OUR RADIOS OR OTHER AUDIO EQUIP.
