Narrative:

As a PIC for the customs service I was part of a training scenario that included tracking a smuggler aircraft. While remaining above the role playing smuggler aircraft at 17500 ft my attention was diverted and I climbed to 18200 ft into the positive control area. This could have been corrected by telling my copilot to monitor my altitude while my attention is outside the aircraft.

Narrative: AS A PIC FOR THE CUSTOMS SVC I WAS PART OF A TRAINING SCENARIO THAT INCLUDED TRACKING A SMUGGLER ACFT. WHILE REMAINING ABOVE THE ROLE PLAYING SMUGGLER ACFT AT 17500 FT MY ATTN WAS DIVERTED AND I CLBED TO 18200 FT INTO THE PCA. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED BY TELLING MY COPLT TO MONITOR MY ALT WHILE MY ATTN IS OUTSIDE THE ACFT.
