Narrative:
After landing in mia, during taxi-in to the gate, there was a report of jet blast damage to another aircraft. I was not made aware of this incident until after completing the next leg of my rotation to fll. At this point, I called our mia operations and our flight control in atl. Therefore, I was unable to personally examine the damage which was caused by a workstand being blown by jet blast into an medium large transport being worked on outside a maintenance hangar adjacent to gate in mia. I was aware of the close proximity of gate to the maintenance work area and took precautions as necessary including briefing my crew on this. Only idle power was used and I stayed on yellow guidelines to minimize any jet blast. The only way to get into the gate with less jet blast is to shut down on the taxiway and be towed into the gate. This is what I will recommend to my company as a standard procedure. Also the maintenance workers should ensure that workstands are chocked and secured.
