Narrative:
On landing at ruh, I gave the pilots a landing data card that indicated a lower landing weight than the actual weight of the aircraft. My usual practice is to check the gross weight in the gross weight indicator. This is done in case the gross weight was not changed at the last takeoff, or fuel quantity gauges becoming inaccurate during flight. During descent when making the calculation, I made a math error. This resulted in my entering the wrong v-ref bracket. Consequently all corrected speeds were lower than necessary for the landing, contributing to the incident. Procedure should be changed so that gross weight and v-spds should be determined independently by both pilots.

Title: WDB HAS TAILSTRIKE ON LNDG.
Narrative: ON LNDG AT RUH, I GAVE THE PLTS A LNDG DATA CARD THAT INDICATED A LOWER LNDG WT THAN THE ACTUAL WT OF THE ACFT. MY USUAL PRACTICE IS TO CHK THE GROSS WT IN THE GROSS WT INDICATOR. THIS IS DONE IN CASE THE GROSS WT WAS NOT CHANGED AT THE LAST TKOF, OR FUEL QUANTITY GAUGES BECOMING INACCURATE DURING FLT. DURING DSCNT WHEN MAKING THE CALCULATION, I MADE A MATH ERROR. THIS RESULTED IN MY ENTERING THE WRONG V-REF BRACKET. CONSEQUENTLY ALL CORRECTED SPDS WERE LOWER THAN NECESSARY FOR THE LNDG, CONTRIBUTING TO THE INCIDENT. PROC SHOULD BE CHANGED SO THAT GROSS WT AND V-SPDS SHOULD BE DETERMINED INDEPENDENTLY BY BOTH PLTS.
