Narrative:
A student pilot of mine attempted a long cross country flight earlier in august. He continued into what was believed to be very near thunderstorm activity. He returned to departure airport and was eventually picked up by other flight instructors. This frightened him enough that he asked me if he could take a pilot friend as a passenger on next attempt. I told him that this would be against FAA regulations and under no circumstances should he take any passenger. The subject was dropped after that conversation. When the student flew second long cross country flight, it was found out by other instructors that he did in fact take a passenger with him. (He admitted this after passenger was found around aircraft.) the action I took after being told of this was to discontinue my services as flight instructor to this student.

Title: AN INSTRUCTOR PLT REFUSED TO FLY WITH AN SPI BECAUSE THE SPI DID SOMETHING HE WAS DIRECTLY TOLD NOT TO DO.
Narrative: A STUDENT PLT OF MINE ATTEMPTED A LONG XCOUNTRY FLT EARLIER IN AUGUST. HE CONTINUED INTO WHAT WAS BELIEVED TO BE VERY NEAR TSTM ACTIVITY. HE RETURNED TO DEP ARPT AND WAS EVENTUALLY PICKED UP BY OTHER FLT INSTRUCTORS. THIS FRIGHTENED HIM ENOUGH THAT HE ASKED ME IF HE COULD TAKE A PLT FRIEND AS A PAX ON NEXT ATTEMPT. I TOLD HIM THAT THIS WOULD BE AGAINST FAA REGS AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD HE TAKE ANY PAX. THE SUBJECT WAS DROPPED AFTER THAT CONVERSATION. WHEN THE STUDENT FLEW SECOND LONG XCOUNTRY FLT, IT WAS FOUND OUT BY OTHER INSTRUCTORS THAT HE DID IN FACT TAKE A PAX WITH HIM. (HE ADMITTED THIS AFTER PAX WAS FOUND AROUND ACFT.) THE ACTION I TOOK AFTER BEING TOLD OF THIS WAS TO DISCONTINUE MY SVCS AS FLT INSTRUCTOR TO THIS STUDENT.
