Narrative:

We were filed for a shoreline 9 departure which called for a turn to 040 after takeoff from runway 28R. The requested departure was changed to a 'sfo 6' and was correctly stated on the pre departure clearance. I failed to see the change. At the time the pre departure clearance was delivered to the cockpit, the first officer was out of his seat. When he returned, I did not say anything more about the departure routing since I had not noticed the change. As we started our turn after takeoff, the tower questioned our turn and gave us a vector to correct the error. The problem was caused by my failure to look at the pre departure clearance properly.
