Narrative:
On approach into mco, landing on runway 17, our aircraft was given a heading to intercept localizer on and instructed to contact tower. At that time, we received a TA on TCASII. Followed by an RA to 'climb.' approach control was queried regarding traffic. In response to TCASII alert, we maintained heading and climbed. The first officer visually idented traffic, air carrier large transport, lined up with adjacent runway 18R. Approach control instructed our aircraft to turn left. Head east until we were able to descend from 4300 ft in order to make a normal approach and landing from that point. ATIS advised of lndgs on both runways, but approach had not previously pointed out parallel traffic.

Title: AN ACR LGT CREW CLBED IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII COMMAND.
Narrative: ON APCH INTO MCO, LNDG ON RWY 17, OUR ACFT WAS GIVEN A HDG TO INTERCEPT LOC ON AND INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT TWR. AT THAT TIME, WE RECEIVED A TA ON TCASII. FOLLOWED BY AN RA TO 'CLB.' APCH CTL WAS QUERIED REGARDING TFC. IN RESPONSE TO TCASII ALERT, WE MAINTAINED HDG AND CLBED. THE FO VISUALLY IDENTED TFC, ACR LGT, LINED UP WITH ADJACENT RWY 18R. APCH CTL INSTRUCTED OUR ACFT TO TURN L. HEAD E UNTIL WE WERE ABLE TO DSND FROM 4300 FT IN ORDER TO MAKE A NORMAL APCH AND LNDG FROM THAT POINT. ATIS ADVISED OF LNDGS ON BOTH RWYS, BUT APCH HAD NOT PREVIOUSLY POINTED OUT PARALLEL TFC.
