Narrative:
Air carrier flight en route lga at FL290 vicinity fak VOR, monitoring ZDC. TCASII warning RA sounded and called for immediate climb. Conflict appeared to be coming from our 6 O'clock position. We climbed as dictated by TCASII to 29700 ft before TCASII resolved conflict. Then advised ATC and were told 2 fgt's had climbed to FL280 behind us at a high roc, thus triggering the TCASII warning. I told ATC we would have appreciated being told about the fighter's presence, before the fact, but got no response.
